Permission to Play

In a world that loves to-do lists, its easy to forget how to have fun.

Don’t wait for permission to be silly, to dance without music, or to laugh until your sides ache. Fun isn’t a frivolous distraction from the serious business of life; it is the vital, life giving force that fuels our resilience and fills our cup. It is a gentle reminder that our worth isn’t measured in accomplishments, but in the moments of unbridled, lighthearted joy that make us feel truly alive.

Having fun isn’t one of those things you have to go out of your way planning a whole day. It’s simply the small moments you share with people you love, the comedy movie you’ve been meaning to watch, that new thing you wanted to try, or just remembering that no matter how old you are, there’s still a kid deep down inside. Do whatever it is that puts a smile on your face and spend it in good company.

This was a few great hours spent in a tree top adventure park only 25 minutes from home. It was stepping outside of my comfort zone, climbing, swinging and ziplining under the shade of trees; amidst a forest, connecting to the earth.
